Technologies
Our scientists are leading the new era of installation with ultra-performing technologies. That redefine the science applied to ceramics.
Color Quartz Microsphere Technology
The invisible strength of Gel, the beauty of light.
In the world of ceramic installation and finishing, for years technology has been limited to performing one function: bonding, filling, resisting.
We have gone further. We have innovated the material itself.
Litokol introduces the first multifunctional component that combines technical performance with aesthetic value. A patented system that integrates quartz microspheres, the only ones of their kind in the world, to provide structural solidity and enhance color and light reflection.
How It Works
Through an exclusive process and patented technology, we have developed intelligent quartz microspheres, integrated into our most advanced Gels.
Two functions, one innovative material.
Reactive Structure
In ultra-high-performance gels for ceramic installation, high-density microspheres undergo a polymerization process and act as three-dimensional micro-reinforcements. They form an internal structural lattice capable of absorbing stresses, which enhances elasticity, strength, and durability.
The result? A more stable and high-performing installation, even in extreme conditions.
Colors with extremely high molecular stability
IIn the Decorative Gels for joints, the microspheres are pigmented using spray dry technology: a unique high-precision process that ensures deep, uniform, and long-lasting coloration. The brilliance, UV resistance, and color intensity are maintained over time.
Each kg of product contains:
- 200 million quartz microspheres (60–200 μm)
- 85 million glass microspheres (60–180 μm)
Dynamic color effects, extremely high color fastness, and next-generation finishes
Crack Prevention Technology
The first smart technology against cracks. Elasticity, adhesion, protection. All in one Gel.
The Challenge
Irregular substrates, thermal shocks, and cyclic stresses are the invisible enemies of ceramic installation. Even structural movement can cause cracks, especially with thin slabs or large formats.
A rigid or insufficiently flexible adhesive is not enough: it does not absorb the stresses and jeopardizes the integrity of the covering.
The Litokol Solution
Tri-polymeric Smart Gel with Crack Prevention technology is the first of its kind.
It integrates quartz microspheres into a highly cohesive elastic matrix, creating a fortified yet flexible 3D lattice.
What does this system do?
- dissipates micro lateral and vertical movements
- drastically reduces the transmission of stresses to the floor
- absorbs the differential deformations between the substrate and the coating,
- prevents the formation of cracks
The entire system works in synergy with the co-engineered 6-Dimensional Elasticity technology to form the TileSafe system: a new frontier of durability in ceramic installation.
Active Transfer Technology
Controlled micro-expansion for continuous structural adhesion.
The Challenge
When using leveling systems on large formats, extra-large formats, or slabs, micro-voids can form between the back of the tile and the adhesive layer.
These invisible but dangerous spaces reduce adhesion and compromise the durability of the covering. Traditional adhesives, with low wettability, do not address this issue as they create discontinuous adhesion.
The Litokol Solution
Active Transfer Technology is the technology behind our micro-expanding polymeric adaptive Gels.
It adapts in real-time to the micro irregularities of the substrate and simultaneously fills the micro voids under the tile caused by the use of leveling systems. It self-compacts to ensure a homogeneous distribution and complete wetting of the back of the tile.
Specific for:
- wedge and/or screw leveling systems
- large formats (> 60 cm) and slabs
- subfloors that are not perfectly planar
Its proprietary formula ensures:
- dynamic filling of microvoids
- full transfer on the back of the tile
- greater adhesion surface
- enhanced mechanical and chemical anchoring forces
A dynamic technology developed to eliminate weak points in professional installation.
Zerocrack Intelligence®
The Challenge
In advanced ceramic installation, the substrate can no longer be a passive element.
Traditional screeds and substrate preparers do not withstand shrinkage, vibrations, thermal cycles, or structural micro-movements.
With thin slabs, large formats, and multi-layer systems, any instability is transmitted to the covering, compromising its integrity.
An active yet compact substrate is needed. A structural support capable of working together with the system to ensure performance and durability.
The Litokol Solution – How It Works
Our structural substrates with Zerocrack Intelligence® are high-performance mineral composite materials with reactive and controlled mechanical behavior.
They function as a true technical plate that:
- stabilizes and consolidates the substrate
- attenuates and redistributes loads
- resists cyclic thermal, mechanical, and hygrometric stresses
- It integrates perfectly with Gel membranes and Gel adhesives.
At the core lies advanced mineral engineering, designed to respond to the most complex stresses. Micro-crystalline cross-linking, shrinkage control, crack resistance, and a calibrated elastic modulus ensure the long-lasting adhesion of ceramic tiles. It is no longer just a simple substrate. It is the first high-tech structure of the bonded system.
6-Dimensional Elasticity Technology
Multidirectional elasticity to waterproof and protect against cracks.
6 Dimensional Elasticity Technology is not just the technological core of the most advanced membranes.
It is an adaptive elastic system, designed with advanced material science principles to intelligently waterproof and isolate ceramic flooring from cracks.
The Challenge
Ceramic surfaces, both internal and external, are subjected to complex forces: thermal expansions, shrinkage, vibrations, structural settlements, and crack movements in the substrates.
Traditional membranes, with only planar or limited flexibility, are unable to absorb these stresses in multiple directions.
The result? Breakages, infiltrations, detachments.
A membrane is needed that can respond to stresses on multiple planes simultaneously, both in depth and on the surface.
The Litokol Solution – How It Works
The latest generation Litokol elastic liquid membranes with 6D Elasticity technology are cross-linked polymer gels with advanced elastomeric behavior, designed to absorb stresses in
six dimensions:
Direction X (longitudinal)
absorbs thermal expansions and contraction
Direction Y (transversal)
manages lateral forces and differential movements
Direction Z (vertical)
compensates for vibrations and subsidence from below
Torsion
responds to rotational forces
Shear
distributes stresses parallel to the laying plane
Internal elastic compression
the lattice deforms and recomposes, dissipating mechanical energy
